HaRav Simcha Lefkowitz

Rabbi Lefkowitz is Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Anshei Chessed. 

Rabbi Lefkowitz also serves as a Departmental Chaplain for the Nassau County Police Department.  In 1984, Rabbi Lefkowitz co-founded Labor & Industry For Education, Inc. (LIFE) a not-for-profit, full-service social services agency which runs many programs for the people of New York City and Nassau County.  In 2004, Rabbi Lefkowitz became the Executive Director of LIFE.

In 1972, Rabbi Lefkowitz received his Rabbinic Ordination from Bais Medrash Gevoah of Lakewood, which included a minor in Educational Pedagogy.   Rabbi Lefkowitz was the Associate Dean of the Los Angeles Kollel from 1974-1981.

He came to New York to be the Associate Dean and Chief Administrative Officer of Yeshivas Toras Chaim, an educational institution with over 500 students.  Under his watch, the school more than doubled in size.  He oversaw the Regents granting high school.  He served in that position from 1981-2004.  Rabbi Lefkowitz was also responsible for all fundraising, and oversaw the design and construction for, a three million dollar plus early childhood center and a four million dollar high school building.  In addition Rabbi Lefkowitz founded and administrates the Leon Mayer Fund.  This charity fund serves to help many local families in a discreet and respectful manner.
